Axar Patel took three wickets and Rinku Singh hit a 29-ball 46 as India defeated Australia by 20 runs in the fourth T20I of the five-match series on Friday at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Suryakumar Yadav’s squad bounced back in style after losing to the current ODI World Cup champion in Guwahati with a clinical effort to grab an unassailable 3-1 lead.

In circumstances with low dew, Axar (4-0-16-3) and Bishnoi (4-0-17-1) weaved a web around the Australian batters. After Josh Philippe and Travis Head delivered a blistering start to the innings, putting Chahar on a leather hunt, the spinners didn’t let the Australians run away with the game.

In the past, Rinku put on a batting display and dominated the game during his stint at the wicket, assisting India in posting a competitive total.

Rinku and Jitesh Sharma put on a stunning 56-run fifth-wicket partnership in 32 balls, but India lost its way at the tail end of the innings and imploded at the finish, losing five wickets and earning only 13 runs in the final two overs.
