In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Shreyas Iyer’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) trounced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), turning the high-stakes match into a one-sided game. Mitchell Starc demonstrated his bowling prowess in the league’s championship match, helping KKR knock out SRH for just 113 runs, the lowest total ever recorded by the 2016 victors in an IPL final.

Australian left-arm swift against Hyderabad, Starc conceded 14 runs and claimed two wickets. At Chepauk, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana combined to take five wickets, reducing the SRH to a pitiful score in just 18.3 overs. In response, KKR defeated SRH eight wickets to win the IPL 2024 championship. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz produced a rapid-fire knock of 39 off 32 balls, and Venkatesh Iyer stayed undefeated on 52 off 26 balls. Kolkata has won the coveted trophy for the third time in IPL history with the easy victory.

The IPL has not released an official announcement, but the champions of this season’s competition will get the same prize money as they did last year. As a result, the total prize money for IPL 2024 participating teams was INR 46.5 crore. If the BCCI decides not to change the list of prize money, KKR will get INR 20 crore as the IPL 2024 champions. In the IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad will receive INR 12.5 crore for placing second. The INR 6.5 crore Royal Challengers Bengaluru will earn for finishing fourth this season, and the INR 7 crore Rajasthan Royals, the previous champions, will receive.

Kohli and Patel Clinch Orange and Purple Caps, Earning INR 10 Lakh Each in IPL 2024

Legendary batsman Virat Kohli will receive INR 10 lakh for finishing the 2024 Indian Premier League as the top run scorer. In the IPL 2024, Kohli won the Orange Cap by dominating the batting stats. Harshal Patel, a pacer with the Punjab Kings, won the Purple Cap by ending the season with the most wickets taken. In addition, Patel will collect INR 10 lakh for taking home the Purple Cap. The Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player of the Tournament winners would get prizes of INR 12 lakh and INR 20 lakh, respectively.
