WPL 2024, Mumbai Indians Vs UP Warriors: Everything You need To Know

2 min read
mi vs up

The Mumbai Indians, who are defending their championship in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), have had a fantastic start to the season. In the opening match of the season, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team defeated the Delhi Capitals, who finished second the previous year, by a thrilling four wickets. In the next match, they looked more dominating, defeating Gujarat Giants by five wickets.

The Mumbai Indians will try to keep up their winning streak when they play the UP Warriorz in the next WPL 2024 encounter on February 28 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Mumbai’s victories in the first two games may also be attributed to skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, even though bowlers primarily controlled the action. She opened the season with a 34-ball 55 before defeating the UP Warriorz with an undefeated 46. With 101 runs at an average of more than 100, Kaur is now the tournament’s top run scorer.

However, UP Warriorz were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first game. Smriti Mandhana and Co. prevailed in a hard struggle with a last delivery.

Pitch Report

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium field has resulted in equal contests in WPL season. At first, there was a little surface movement. But playing the stroke will become simpler as the game goes on and the dew sets in. So it makes sense to bowl first, and a winning total is anything above 160.
