Team Spirit Secures Victory in PGL Astana 2025

The Counter-Strike 2 tournament, PGL Astana 2025 finals, was held at Barys Arena, Kazakhstan. The total prize pool of the tournament was $625,000. The Team Spirit won the tournament against Astralis by 3-1. Team Spirit won the massive prize money of $200,000 as their winnings. This is the second major won by Team Spirit this year.

Team Spirit has been on a winning streak, and it reached new heights with a championship-winning performance at PGL Astana 2025.

“Donk” Thriller Clutch

CS2 enthusiasts from around the globe had the fortune to witness what was arguably the most exciting match of 2025 in its grand final. Team Spirit had a dominant start, winning the first two matches of the series on Dust2 and Nuke. The second map had one of the tournament’s most legendary moments when 16-year-old superstar Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets did a remarkable 1v4 clutch and sealed the victory for Spirit at match point.

Astralis were able to make a comeback by winning Mirage; however, Span regained control and finished the series on Train, winning the title. Alongside the glory, Team Spirit also took home $200,000 from the total prize pool of $625,000. Donk also got the MVP of the tournament, becoming the youngest player to reach that height.

Team Spirit’s Growth

Team Spirit got the victory in both PGL Astana and BLAST Bountyg, which have made them one of the successful emerging teams of the year.

The final drew massive online spectator attention, hitting 920,009 peak viewership, making it the most viewed match in the tournament.

Along with winning the 2021 and 2023 International Dota 2, Team Spirit also competes in CS2, making them a leader in esports. They are currently in 4th position on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) with this performance and looking to increase the rank to the top spot.
