LEC Summer Split 2025: Full Format, Schedule, and Team Lineup Revealed

The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Summer Split 2025

The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Summer Split 2025 will start from August 2 with intense competition as the last chance for teams to qualify for the World Championship in China. After a dramatic Movistar KOI victory during the Spring Split. This summer is intended to bring more storylines along with new challengers due to the major format changes made by Riot Games. Without Season Finals this year, LEC Summer 2025 will be the only determinant for the three region representatives attending Worlds.

Change in Format Update and Playoff Implications

The Summer Split will now follow a new format, which eliminates the previous group stage format that featured best-of-one matches. Instead of that, now the ten participating teams will be divided into two groups of five. Within each group, there will be a round-robin competition consisting of best-of-three matches. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs and reach the upper bracket first.

Simultaneously, the third-place team from each group will fight against the fourth-place team from the opposite groups in a cross-match best-of-five match. Winners of these matches will fill out the final two spots after advancing to the playoffs. removes All playoff matches will also be conducted as best-of-five using Fearless Draft as well.

Most importantly, direct qualification for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is awarded to the top 3 teams.

This year, there will not be any Season Finals according to Riot Games. This increases focus on how splits aid in determining standings placement while increasing importance on new worlds criteria; the addition drastically alters competitive strategy by switching off elimination mode for literally every matchup.

Key Dates, Participating Teams, and Broadcasting

The group stage will take place at Riot Games Arena in Berlin starting from August 2, 2025. Group play concludes with playoffs commencing in early September. The LEC Summer Finals take place from September 26 to 28 at Madrid’s Caja Mágica stadium. Tickets for the group stage in Berlin will go on sale on July 15, while tickets to the finals are already live for sale.

The 10 participating teams are Fnatic, G2 Esports, GIANTX, Karmine Corp, Movistar KOI, SK Gaming, Team BDS, Team Heretics, Team Vitality, and NAVI.

Fans can watch all matches on the LEC official Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok pages. Creators will also be co-streaming, offering alternative insights and commentary throughout the split.
