Petra Rejoins G2 Gozen Before VCT Game Changers EMEA Stage 3

Popular professional VALORANT player Petra Stoker has rejoined G2 Gozen’s active roster. With the upcoming VCT Game Changers EMEA Stage 3, she has decided to rejoin the G2 Gozen.

This change will shift her back into the same initiator position, which she previously occupied, helping to enhance the lineup. This decision was made after the team’s poor performance in Stages 1 and 2 of the 2025 season.

G2 Gozen has been one of the most iconic women’s teams in VALORANT history and is considered a powerhouse team. To reclaim the dominance, they have switched up players in hopes of achieving greater success. With the winner of Stage 3 earning a direct slot at the Game Changers Championship in Seoul, this roster change becomes even more important.

Roster Realignment: Back to Familiar Roles

In the recent matches, G2 Gozen has struggled to meet performance benchmarks, despite flashes of brilliance. In Stage 2, both a perfect group stage run and a dominant first match pair were instantly undermined by a lacklustre fourth-place finish, indicating deeper challenges with the team’s synergy issues or unfulfilled roles within the squad. Head Coach Drew “DrewSpark” Spark-Whitworth admitted that their role-swapping has compromised their team’s consistency.

He further said that balance could best be achieved by reverting the structure to traditional cores, which places Petra back in Initiator, where Aleyna “Vania” Keskin can comfortably return to Smokes, and Amy ‘amy’ Lai returns to the Sentinel role, while IGL Michaela “mimi” Lintrup transitions to Flex. The recent addition of Esllene “Akita” Xu will continue as Duellist. This realignment does mean losing Mathilde “Nelo” Beltoise, who joined the roster earlier this year.

Aiming for Redemption at Stage 3

Return of Petra symbolises much more than a roster move; it is more of an intent statement. As a founding member of G2 Gozen, her experience and leadership guide the young team. With internal roles redefined and team structure stabilized, G2 Gozen is aligned towards improving teamwork as well as regaining EMEA dominance in the now heavily contested region.

Stage 3 VCT Game Changers EMEA will run from September 30 to November 2. The tournament is not only a chance for redemption but also directly qualifies for the Game Changers Championship in Seoul. For G2 Gozen, reclaiming their legacy becomes an urgent need.
