India Vs Nepal ICC U-19 World Cup Super Six
3 min readIndia Vs Nepal ICC U-19 World Cup : The last Super Six match of the season takes place in Bloemfontein, South Africa, on Friday, with the reigning champions India playing Nepal. Nepal had a difficult evening after losing disappointingly to Bangladesh in their Super Six opener on January 30, but the five-time champions are still undefeated after defeating New Zealand by 214 runs.
India was grouped in Group A with Bangladesh, the United States, and Ireland. Along with Australia and Pakistan, the Boys in Blue are the only other teams in the tournament to have won every game they played. They finished first in Group A after winning all three of their group stage matches.
However, as the third-placed team from Group D, Nepal advanced. They have an outside chance of making it to their first-ever U-19 ICC World Cup semi-final after winning their lone match against Afghanistan by one wicket. Unfortunately, they lost against Bangladesh by five wickets, therefore all hope has been lost.
The previous head-to-head between India vs Nepal
Nepal U-19 was destroyed by seven wickets and eight wickets in the two previous head-to-head matches between India U-19 and them. With 179 balls remaining, India defeated Nepal by seven wickets on February 1, 2016, after restricting them to 169/8. With only 24 balls, Rishabh Pant hit 78 runs in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Group D match at Mirpur, Bangladesh. People like Avesh Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, Shubham Mavi, and others were part of the Indian team lead by Ishan Kishan.
During their ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Super League group encounter on January 18, 2000, India held Nepal to 101/9 before skipper Muhammad Kaif scored an undefeated half-century (57 off 71) to lead his team to an eight-wicket victory. Yuvraj Singh, Ajay Ratra, and Reetinder Sodhi were among the Indian participants.
