The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the introduction of prize money to honor excellent players, a key step towards improving domestic cricket. This program will honor players from all levels of domestic cricket, which will be a significant step in the identification of potential in Indian cricket. This move is a reflection of the BCCI’s dedication to improving the domestic cricket landscape by giving new and up-and-coming talent a platform and real incentives for their achievements. All junior and women’s cricket competitions, including the esteemed Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for senior men’s cricket, will pay prize money.

In a letter, Jay Shah stated, “As part of our domestic cricket programme, we are introducing prize money for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all women’s and junior cricket events. Furthermore, there will be cash prizes for the Player of the Match in the Senior Men’s Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali competitions

September marks the beginning of India’s domestic schedule with the Duleep Trophy. In October, there will be the Irani Cup.
