UTT 2024: Dabang Delhi Seeks First Victory Against Harmeet Desai’s Goa Challengers

When Dabang Delhi TTC and Athlead Goa Challengers square off for the first time in IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis 2024 on Wednesday at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, they will both have much to prove. The Delhi squad, captained by Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, has already lost both of its ties. Dabang Delhi TTC is just one decisive victory away from moving up from their present seventh-place position to one that is reserved for the playoffs, despite the narrow margins of their losses.

On the other side, Harmeet Desai‘s Athlead Goa Challengers are coming off a crushing loss to the Ahmedabad SG Pipers and will be trying to bounce back immediately and establish themselves as the defending champions. The main event of the fight between Dabang Delhi TTC and Athlead Goa Challengers will include Sathiyan’s probable matchup with Harmeet. The two are among the best paddlers in India and both has experience competing at the Olympics.

Diya Chitale of Dabang Delhi TTC, who is ranked lower, may get attention after her thrilling victory over Poymantee Baisya of the Chennai Lions. She will probably take against Yashaswini Ghorpade, the youthful phenom hoping to make an impression this season with the Athlead Goa Challengers

Among the international players on the squad, Yangzi Liu of Athlead Goa Challengers will be the center of attention due to her incredible winning streak, which she has maintained since the beginning of the previous campaign. Liu will try to extend her winning streak against Dabang Delhi TTC’s Orawan Paranang in a prospective encounter. Liu has won both of her singles bouts at IndianOil UTT 2024.
