Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s white-ball team, was made fun of when he was dismissed by a left-arm spinner in a practise session. He was bowled while attempting to sweep the spinner. Babar has gone through a really difficult period in his international cricket career. Pakistani cricket fans did not waste any time in criticising the batsman, who just happened to fall outside of the top 10 ranks in Test cricket.

In the last two-match Test series against Bangladesh, Babar Azam managed just 64 runs in four innings. In the first Test match, he almost got a pair but Litton Das dropped him for a golden duck in the second innings. Babar was out of the game three times by pacers and once by spinner Shakib Al Hasan in this series. His demise in this series was also partly caused by his propensity to edge the ball behind the wicket on both sides.

Since December 2022, the senior batter has not reached the century mark. In actuality, he went 16 innings in the red-ball format without scoring a single fifty during the last Test match against Bangladesh.

Frustrated fans trolled Babar

Social media was used by fans to vent their frustration at the batsman and criticize him for being out of the game against a “club bowler.”

England and Pakistan will face off in a three-match Test series later in October. The Pakistan Cricket Board launched a new local competition called the Champions One Day Cup, which the best players will compete in before then.

From September 12 to 29, the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad will host the Champions One-Day Cup. The single-league competition, which will also mark the return of men’s seniors competitive cricket to Faisalabad after almost two years away, will include the greatest players in the nation. The Iqbal Stadium’s final domestic men’s 50-over match took place in March 2022.
