The IPL 2025 season has started in a full storm, and the battle for the Orange Cap continues to intensify as the tournament is in progresses. The Orange Cap is one of the most prestigious individual awards in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which will be awarded to the highest run-scorer of the season to recognize consistency, performance, and impact with the bat across the tournament. Initially, the Orange Cap was the informal incentive by the Sponsors, but later it was made as an official recognition by the IPL governing body.

As the 2025 season unfolds, the race for the Orange Cap will continue to add an extra layer of excitement to the IPL with some of the world’s best batters looking for the top spot. Currently, as of April 8, 2025, Nicholas Pooran of the LSG  leads the IPL 2025 Orange Cap standings with 201 runs from four matches with a strike rate of 218.47.

Nicholas Pooran, a dynamic left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, Pooran is one of the key player of the LSG team. His exceptional performance in the 2024 season was remarkable, where he scored 499 runs at an average of 62.37 and a strike rate of 178.31. Hence, he was retained by the LSG franchise for the TATA IPL 2025.

In this season, Pooran leads the orange cap scoreboard with 201 runs from four matches with a strike rate of 218.47.

2. Surya Kumar Yadav (MI)

Surya Kumar Yadav popularly known as SKY, is a prominent Indian cricketer known for his innovative and aggressive batting style.
