Noor Ahmad is a young Afghanistan cricketer known for his left-arm wrist spin. He represents the Afghanistan cricket team in T20I and ODI. Along with Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, he forms a deadly spin trio combination for Afghanistan .
Noor gained fame at his young age due to his impressive bowling skills in domestic cricket and various franchise leagues like the IPL, PSL, BBL, and CPL before turning 18, showcasing his talent across the world. Despite his young age, he has already competed against top international players and has shown immense potential as a future star of Afghanistan cricket.

Early Life
Noor Ahmad was born on 3 January 2005 in Lakan Spinki Bori, a small village in Khost Province, Afghanistan. He was the youngest of eight siblings, growing up in a modest family. At the age of 5 only, he started playing tape-ball cricket with friends.
Noor Ahmad was also good in studies; he was the school topper in grade 10. He was inspired by Afghan cricketers like Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi . Hence, he developed his left-arm wrist spin (Chinaman bowling) naturally by following his idols.
He made his first-class debut at the age of 14 for Kabul Region on April 29, 2019. Later that same year, he debuted in T20 cricket for Mis Ainak Knights in the Shpageeza Cricket League .

Domestic Career
Noor Ahmad made his first-class debut on 29 April 2019 for Kabul Region in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day tournament. Then, on 8 October 2019, he made his T20 debut for Mis Ainak Knights in the Shpageeza Cricket League. Later, on 14 October 2020, he made his List A debut for Mis Ainak Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament.
Later he joined various franchise cricket leagues, such as the Caribbean Premier League, Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League, and showcased his talent.
At the age of 15 years, he was selected for Afghanistan’s squad in the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and gained national exposure with his gameplay. Within 2-3 years, he emerged as a global player from an Afghanistan domestic player.
International Career
Noor Ahmad made his T20 International debut on 14 June 2022 against Zimbabwe in Harare. In that very match, he took 4 wickets for just 10 runs and earned the Player of the Match award. As of April 2025, he has played 14 T20I matches, taking 7 wickets with an economy rate of 6.94.
He made his ODI debut on 30 November 2022 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele and became the youngest Afghan player to feature in a World Cup. So far, he has played 13 ODI matches, claiming 10 wickets with an economy rate of 6.17.

IPL Carrer
Noor Ahmad made his IPL debut at the age of 17 with the Gujarat Titans in 2022, playing 2 matches as a replacement for Rashid Khan. In IPL 2023, he took 16 wickets for GT and played a crucial role in the team’s run to the final.
In IPL 2024, he continued as GT’s secondary spinner, contributing effectively during the crucial middle overs. Later, in the IPL 2025 auction, he was picked by CSK for Rs 10 crore. He is currently performing well this season and is among the highest wicket-takers in IPL 2025.
