The 43rd match of the TATA IPL 2025 was held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk on Friday. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) successfully beat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 5 wickets.
SRH won the toss and chose to bowl first. In the first innings, CSK batsmen struggled to build partnerships due to the regular fall of wickets. SRH bowlers took crucial wickets and controlled the flow of runs, and made them all out in 19.5 overs. Harshal Patel delivered an impressive spell and took 4 wickets. Dewald Brevis provided some resistance for CSK by playing a crucial knock of 42 off 25 balls, helping them post a total of 154 on the scoreboard.
In the second innings, SRH also initially struggled to score runs and build partnerships due to early wickets. However, Ishan Kishan backed the team with an impressive knock of 42 off 25 balls. SRH chased down the target of 154 within 19 overs and secured a victory by 5 wickets with 8 balls to spare.
With this win, SRH moved to eighth position on the points table with 6 points, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Meanwhile, CSK is unofficially out of the IPL 2025 Season, as they cannot reach the playoffs with their current points.
