2025 ICC Team Rankings: India Shine in White-Ball, Australia Rule Tests

The latest ICC annual men’s team rankings were released on Monday, and India continues its dominance in white-ball formats (T20I and ODI) and retains the top position. Meanwhile, Australia holds the top spot in the Test rankings.
India has solid success in white-ball cricket, having won the 2024 T20 World Cup in North America and also clinched the ICC Champions Trophy held earlier this year in Pakistan and the UAE. Therefore, they are at the top of the ICC ODI and T20I rankings.
In the ICC ODI Ranking, Runners-up of the Champions Trophy, New Zealand, acquires the second spot, and Australia holds the Third position.
Australia team remains safely in the Second position at the ICC T20 Ranking, but the lead over the second place has been reduced from 10 to 9 points.
However, in the Test rankings, India has slipped to fourth position. Australia remains firmly at the top, bolstered by their status as defending champions of the World Test Championship and securing a place in their second consecutive final, set to take place at Lord’s in June this year. England has climbed to second place, overtaking both India and South Africa. The gap between the top two Test teams, Australia and England, is currently just 13 points.
