PaiN Gaming, FURIA, and 3DMAX qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3 After Shocking Wins

PaiN Gaming, FURIA, and 3DMAX qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3 After Shocking Wins

The BLAST.tv Austin Major continues to provide a thrilling and competitive event. The Brazilian teams PaiN Gaming and FURIA, and the French team 3DMAX, have qualified to play the BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3. All three teams secured their spots in Stage 3 after impressive victories.

Their qualification came as a surprise; they defeated higher-ranked opponents and tournament favourites and secured a spot in Stage 3.

These three teams eliminated the prominent teams of the tournament, which made their victories even more significant

Brazilian Powerhouses Shine on the Global Stage

The second stage of the Major has seen more examples of Brazilian resilience. Following an earlier loss to Virtus.pro, the PaiN Gaming team bounced back with a commanding 2–0 victory over China’s Lynn Vision Gaming. This win enabled PaiN to secure their qualification, as they dominated both Dust II (13-8) and Nuke (13-4).

FURIA had a more torturous route. They dropped Mirage to B8, 3-13, but then rallied back emphatically with clinical victories on Train (13:6) and Dust II (13:7), revealing their tactical depth and mental resilience.

Another Brazilian team, Legacy, is also qualified for Stage 3. Therefore, Brazil is now represented by three squads in this stage. This highlights the region’s increasing strength in the Counter-Strike game.

3DMAX Shocks FaZe, Top Teams Face Elimination

One of the unexpected results in stage 2 was 3DMAX from France knocking out FaZe Clan.

The French team 3DMAX sealed the victory in the two important maps. They won the series 13-8 on Nuke and then 13-9 on Inferno. These two victories helped 3DMAX seal the victory against FaZe.

Star players like Ex3rcise and Graviti delivered clutch multi-kill rounds. This is also one of the factors for their victory, which surprised all.

Meanwhile, North American and Asian teams faced major setbacks. M80, TYLOO, and Team Falcons all bowed out after disappointing 1-3 records.

The Falcons’ defeat was very surprising, as every analyst had scribbled “playoffs” before even touching the brackets. Their campaign ended after a tight loss to MIBR on Inferno.

Final Qualification Matches

Stage 2’s final round will determine the last three teams entering Stage 3. The final matchups, FaZe vs. MIBR, B8 vs. Lynn Vision, and Nemiga vs. HEROIC, will decide the last Stage 3 qualifiers.

These matches are crucial because teams are fighting for a place in the playoffs and a shot at winning the championship. The competition is getting more intense in Austin.

The tournament has a total prize money of $1.25 million, and teams are competing to win a portion of it. Fans can watch all the action live on YouTube and Twitch starting June 19.
