Dhoni to start net practice soon, CSK CEO talks about his future with the team and IPL 2024
The CEO of the CSK, K.S. Viswanathan, has stated that team captain M.S. Dhoni will be returning to training in the next weeks in order to be ready for the 2024 Indian Premier League. Following his leadership of the Super Kings to their sixth IPL triumph earlier this year, the former captain of India had surgery on his left knee. Throughout the competition, the 42-year-old was frequently spotted wearing knee braces and appeared to have some difficulty, particularly while sprinting between the wickets.
Regarding Dhoni‘s level of fitness, Viswanathan provided an update, saying, “He is doing well now.” He’s working out in the gym and has begun his rehabilitation. Additionally, he will most likely begin working in the nets in ten more days.
Viswanathan gave a timeline for Dhoni’s comeback to the practice nets in order to get ready for the IPL 2024. Following the 2023 Indian Premier League season, Dhoni underwent knee surgery earlier this year. However, it appears that he has healed well enough for the next season. The skipper has already started working out in the gym and is scheduled to hit the nets during the first week of January, according to Viswanathan.
The CEO said, “He is doing well now. He has started his rehab. He started working in the gym. And, probably in another ten days he’ll also start working in the nets.”
Viswanathan further disclosed that the defending champion Chennai Super Kings will begin their training camp in the first week of March, with the IPL 2024 season likely to begin on March 22. We want to set up a camp within the first week of March. By March 22nd, the IPL season is probably going to begin. Thus, within the first week in Chennai, we would hold our first camp,” he stated.
