India to Play Day-Night Warm-Up Match Ahead of Adelaide Test Against Australia
2 min readIndia will take against the Prime Minister’s XI in a two-day practice match at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on November 30 and December 1 ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match has been arranged to boost India’s preparation for the Day-Night Test against Australia, which will take place at the Adelaide Oval starting on December 6.
India has so far defeated Bangladesh (2019), England (2021), and Sri Lanka (2022) in three pink-ball Test matches. They haven’t yet participated in a Day-Night Test abroad, though, and the Adelaide Test will mark their first overseas match.
For the first time in twenty years, India will also be playing against the Prime Minister’s XI for the fourth time. Steve Waugh captained the PM XI against an Indian side headed by Rahul Dravid, which included current national coach Andrew McDonald.

“Representing the PMs XI is a tremendous honor for any player given its rich history spanning across eight decades,” stated George Bailey, the CA Chair of Selectors. Players will also have a chance to shine against what is perhaps the best team in world cricket in this year’s competition.
The first Test between Australia and India is slated to begin on November 22 at Perth Stadium. The third, fourth, and fifth Tests will be held in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, in that order. India has won two Test series in a row in Australia.
