BCCI announces 15 -member Squad of India for ODI World Cup 2023
3 min readThe eagerly awaited 2023 ODI World Cup will include a 15-member team, which was released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Notably, the major tournament is scheduled to start on October 5 in India with the curtain-raiser match pitting reigning champions England versus New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s famed Narendra Modi Stadium.
All 10 nations were instructed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to finalise their separate squads and submit them to the top council by September 5. The 15-member team that has been selected by the All India Senior Men’s Selection Committee for the high-profile competition was made public with this announcement.
While Hardik Pandya has been designated as Rohit Sharma’s assistant for the major ICC tournament, Sharma will continue to be the setup’s leader. The World Cup lineup for Team India closely reflects the list of players who are presently competing in the Asia Cup 2023 campaign.
Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, among others, who are injury-free, will compete in the ODI World Cup after being named to India’s team for the ACC competition. In addition, the think tank supported Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami to be included in the lineup due to their background and most recent bowling accomplishments.
