3 min readIndia vs Australia, ICC U-19 World Cup Final : After India’s thrilling victory over Pakistan in the second semifinal at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, the Hugh Weibgen-led team will play Australia in the U19 World Cup final on Sunday.
Azan Awais and Arafat Minhas both scored half-centuries as Australia, who elected to bowl first, bowled out Pakistan for 179 in 48.5 overs, with Tom Straker taking six wickets.
While Australia continued to lose wickets, lower-order batsman Oliver Peake scored a match-winning 49 and opener Harry Dixon scored a skilfully half-century to set up the final match against India.
India defeated South Africa earlier this week to keep themselves on track for a record-tying sixth Under-19 World Cup victory. To secure a spot in the summit match, the team captained by Uday Sharan defeated the Proteas by two wickets in the semifinal.

India has dominated the route to the championship. They defeated Ireland by a huge 201 runs after winning comfortably by 84 runs against Bangladesh to begin their campaign. In their last group stage game, they defeated the US hosts by 201 runs. India maintained their winning run as they advanced to the Super Six stage by beating Nepal by 132 runs and New Zealand by 214 runs. They demonstrated their tenacity by defeating South Africa by two wickets in the semi-finals.
Three of India’s batsmen are among the top five run scorers in the match, showcasing their outstanding hitting talent. With 389 runs, Captain Uday Saharan is first on the list, followed by Sachin Dhas and Musheer Khan. And with 17 wickets under his belt, Saumy Pandey has been an outstanding performance.
