Gautam Gambhir’s makeover In preparation for the forthcoming T20I series, Team India, captained by Suryakumar Yadav and including Hardik Pandya, has landed in Sri Lanka. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah introduced Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian team following India’s historic run without an ICC World Cup victory. In addition, India’s greatest players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, said goodbye to Twenty20 Internationals after the Men in Blue’s Caribbean championship run.

In the quickest format possible, Gambhir chose Suryakumar by hand for the open leadership position as his first task as head coach. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was Rohit’s deputy at the T20 World Cup, has left the leadership group during the Gambhir period. During the Sri Lanka trip, Shubman Gill, a top batsman, was named the new vice-captain of Team India under Gambhir. India’s trip of Sri Lanka will begin with a three-match Twenty20 International series.
