Player to Watch For
KL Rahul’s T20 cricket strike-rate has long been a source of debate. Rahul has frequently got off to a poor start in the IPL, despite the benefit of field limitations in the Powerplay. But this season, the LSG skipper has been able to shift gears. He has scored 378 runs in the 2024 season with a strike rate of 144.27, which is still less than Rishabh Pant’s (160.60) and Sanju Samson’s (161.08) totals.
The five-time champions must perform as a cohesive team if they are to win the World Cup. Players like Indian captain Rohit Sharma and top T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav would like to settle into a groove. This season, all-rounder Pandya has struggled both with the bat and the ball. Although he recently achieved his highest score of the season, more would be required if he were to be selected for the World Cup team.
