Virat Kohli : When India and England last faced off in a Test series in England, Virat Kohli and Ollie Robinson had a lot to say to one other. Although Kohli has greatly softened, there’s a good probability that Round 2 will take place in India during the last week of January given the way Robinson has set the stage.
The last time India and England played a Test series in England, Ollie Robinson and Virat Kohli exchanged a lot of heated words. Given the way Robinson has set the scenario, even though Kohli has softened somewhat, there’s a fair chance that Round 2 will take place in India during the final week of January.

Nonetheless, the England right-arm bowler has discussed his feelings on Kohli prior to the first Test in Hyderabad. Robinson recalled that he couldn’t recall what Kohli said to him during the Lord’s Test in 2021 when the Indian fielders headed by Kohli gave him a rough time. “A few days ago, I actually watched the video of me going to bat at Lord’s.” I believe the ball that struck me in the chest and went a good length was bowled by Siraj. Robinson told ESPNCricinfo, “And in the video, all the Indian players are around me, and Kohli is saying… well, I can’t remember what he said.”

During that series, Robinson, who removed Kohli three times, declared that he was prepared to chip away at the ego of the former India captain.

In order to simulate Indian conditions in advance of the next Test series, which begins on January 25, the England team has been training in Abu Dhabi. On January 21, they arrive in Hyderabad. In lieu of the retiring Stuart Broad, Robinson will be a key player with veteran seemer James Anderson.

“I’ve actually been practising Mohammed Shami’s dead-straight seam. He’s one of the best bowlers for India. I was looking at Ishant (Sharma) as well – he played at Sussex for a bit and he’s done really well in India for quite a while. He’s tall, similar to me,” ESPN Cricinfo quoted Robinson as saying.

“You always want to play against the best players, don’t you? And you always want to get the best players out. Kohli is one of those. He’s got a big ego, and I think playing on that, especially in India, where he is going to want to dominate and score runs, playing on the fact we’ve had battles in the past, is exciting,” said Robinson.
