RCB’s Devdutt Padikkal Ruled Out of IPL 2025, Mayank Agarwal Named Replacement

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Devdutt Padikkal has been ruled out of the remaining IPL 2025 matches due to a right hamstring injury. He was the vital component of the RCB in the No. 3 position, providing a great partnership with Virat Kohli and others.

Before his injury, Padikal had played 10 matches for RCB. Scored 247 runs at a strike rate of 150.60, including two half-centuries.

Now, RCB has officially confirmed that Mayank Agarwal has been signed as Padikkal’s replacement for the rest of the season.

Mayank Agarwal’s Return to RCB

Mayank started his IPL career with the RCB in 2011 and was a part of the RCB until 2013. He played for more than a decade for the RCB team. Mayank Agarwal is an experienced player in the IPL. He has played a total of 127 matches and scored 2661 runs, including one century and 13 fifties. 

This season, he was left unsold, and RCB picked him as a replacement for Devdutt Padikkal for Rs 1 crore.

Mayank Agarwal may play in the next match as a replacement for Devdutt Padikkal in RCB against LSG in Lucknow.

RCB’s Current Standing

Currently, RCB is in the second position in the table with 16 points out of 11 matches played. They have won 4 back-to-back matches continuously.

Their qualification for the playoffs is almost certain, and they have 3 remaining matches to play.

The next match is tomorrow in Lucknow, and the next 2 matches are at the home ground in Bangalore against SRH on 13 May and KKR on 17 May.
