League of Legends scrims vs Cloud9 will be streamed by FlyQuest

2 min read

League of Legends (LoL) scrims between FlyQuest and Cloud9, another LTA North rival, will be aired by FlyQuest. The two North American esports teams will practice matches on FlyQuest’s Twitch channel later today (February 4) at 8.45 PM GMT / 2:45 PM EST, according to the statement on X (previously Twitter). Additionally, FlyQuest verified that anybody can co-stream the scrims as long as they mention the name of the organization in the co-stream title. Gabriël “Bwipo,” the team’s top laner, initially proposed broadcasting FlyQuest’s scrims in a post-match interview at the League of Legends North American esports conference, LTA North. After defeating rival Shopify Rebellion handily, Bwipo revealed that allowing teams to view FlyQuest’s scrims will help the league as a whole.

“We want to demonstrate to our supporters and the rest of the league what makes us champions. […] I want to raise the overall level of the region’, Bwipo stated.

“In my opinion, disclosing our activities will improve everyone else, which will raise the bar for the entire region and result in better performances.

Riot Games temporarily changed their rules to allow for the forthcoming scrims broadcast.

How the LTA can prevent LoL Champions Queue failures with streamed scrims

LTA Commissioner Mark Zimmerman said on February 2nd that during the league’s inaugural split, teams would be permitted to webcast scrims against other LTA opponents. He underlined that to allow for input and possible changes, this was a temporary approach. Practice matches have been streamed by League of Legends rosters before, including FlyQuest and Cloud9. Authentic behind-the-scenes video, including scrims, has been a pillar of the esports adventure of Los Ratones, an EMEA squad created by streamer MarcRobert “Caedrel” Lamont.

Additionally, Bwipo said that the NLC competitor had greatly influenced him: “It’s their idea.” We stole it. […] They gave us the idea. I think it’s a fantastic approach to interact with the audience, interact with everyone, and just perform better overall.

FlyQuest has to defeat Dignitas in the bottom bracket on February 10th to proceed to the season’s first LTA cross-conference event. The top four teams from the LTA North and South will participate in the LTA 2025 Cross Conference, which begins on February 15. The person who secures America’s First Stand berth will be crowned the first LTA champion. Remarkably, FlyQuest was forced into the bottom bracket by Cloud 9. The competitor has already earned a spot at the Cross-Conference. The only team to surpass Cloud9 in the LTA North was 100 Thieves.

Bwipo joined FlyQuest in November 2023 and began his career in the EMEA area. The Belgian athlete won the Summer 2024 split, the final split under the LCS name, and helped FlyQuest win its first LCS title.
