The German-based marketing services provider for gaming and esports, Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH, will receive an investment of €8 Mn (about INR 71.8 Cr) from Nazara Technologies’ esports subsidiary NODWIN Gaming.This occurs only a few days after NODWIN Gaming used a convertible note to invest INR 33.26 Cr in Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH.
NODWIN Gaming acquires 13.51% stake in Freaks 4U Gaming
“NODWIN has contributed € 4.4 million to the purchase of extra Freaks 4U Gaming shares via the conversion of its convertible credit arrangement, which was originally signed on December 27, 2023, for € 3.6 million into equity. NODWIN has invested a total of € 8 million, or 13.51% of the firm, in Freaks 4U Gaming. In the future, NODWIN may also gain control of the company by exchanging the founders’ and investors’ stock in Freaks 4U Gaming for NODWIN shares, according to Nazara’s exchange filing.
NODWIN Gaming and Freaks 4U Gaming collaborate on esports projects
As per the agreement, NODWIN and Freaks 4U Gaming will begin using staff, equipment, and facilities in each other’s primary regions. The filing also stated that Freaks 4U Gaming will gain access to NODWIN’s emerging market network, facility capabilities in the mobile esports and youth culture ecosystems, and access to NODWIN’s developed market network, PC ecosystem, and full-service capabilities.In order to ensure synergy between the two businesses, NODWIN will also bring in special advisory expert Niels Wolter to the Freaks 4U Gaming advisory board to provide advice on strategy, operations, and integration.

NODWIN has recently been investing and expanding via acquisitions. The firm recently stated that it will be purchasing a 100% share in Comic Con India for INR 55 Cr ($6 Mn) in cash and stock. That announcement was made a few days ago.In an all-cash acquisition valued at $1.3 million, it purchased a 51% share in mediatech firm Branded last year. For INR 10.01 Cr. in April, the esports firm also acquired a 35% share in the gaming accessory company Wings. Previous to that, in January 2022, NODWIN purchased a 100% share in the licenced D2C brand Planet Superheroes.Additionally, its parent business collected an additional INR 510 Cr from investors, including Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha and SBI Mutual Fund. CEO Nitish Mittersain told Inc42 that the business planned to use the new funding to support game developers that could create high-caliber titles for both the Indian and international markets.
