PM Modi Engages with Former PKL Player and Poland Kabaddi Chief Spiczko for Sports Collaboration
2 min readOn Thursday, August 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Michal Spiczko, the President of the Kabaddi Federation of Poland. Spiczko, who played two seasons in the Pro Kabaddi League with the Bengaluru Bulls in 2015 and 2016, to explore ways to increase the sport’s popularity in that nation.
During his visit, the Prime Minister met Spiczko and Anna Kalbarczyk, a board member of the Kabaddi Federation of Poland.

In a ‘X’ post, Modi said, “We talked about how to further popularize this sport in Poland, including making sure more tournaments between Indian and Polish players.”

He expressed his gratitude to Spiczko and Kalbarczyk for their commitment to growing kabaddi in Poland and spreading the game throughout Europe. According to the MEA, the PM emphasized the value of sports in promoting bilateral ties and cross-cultural interactions between Poland and India.
Spiczko, who is currently 37 years old, played with Bengaluru Bulls for two seasons before making his PKL debut as the first European kabaddi player. Also, he played for the Polish national team at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad.
