The 18th season of the biggest T20 Cricket league in the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is about to commence on March 22, 2025. This time, a total of 10 teams are battling out for the IPL trophy across 13 iconic venues in India. Throughout the tournament, a total of 74 matches will take place between the teams in a span of two months, from March 22 to May 25. This year, the TATA IPL mega-auction took place in Jeddah, where the team franchisees made investments for 182 players, of which 62 were overseas players.

IPL has always been regarded as the biggest T20 league all around the world, and therefore, it continuously attracts the world’s best talent each year. This year, something similar has happened where several international sensations have come up to make their debut in the world’s most-watched T20 league.

Some of the most interesting names that are making headlines are:

1. Josh Inglis (Australia)

Josh Inglish, the talented Australian wicketkeeper-batter, has been acquired by Punjab Kings for a hopping amount of 2.60 crore. He is very well known in the cricketing world for his aggressive stroke play. He is among the few Australian players to score a century in all three formats of cricket.

Josh Inglish was an integral part of the Australian side, which won three ICC titles, including the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup. This is for sure that Inglis will stabilize the edge-old problem with PBK’s batting lineup and add some much-needed firepower in the middle order.

2. Ryan Rickelton (South Africa)

If Punjab Kings can acquire an Australian wicketkeeper batsman, then why can’t the Mumbai Indians franchise secure one when they are in need? The famous franchise team of Mukesh Ambani has acquired the services of South African wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton for a sum of Rs 1 crore.

Ryan Rickelton has already proved his explosive batting style in the SA20 league with MI Cape Town. His experience with the T20 format will definitely add depth to the Mumbai Indian’s Squad.
