India to Host Major Esports Tournament in November 2024

With the announcement of a new competition featuring well-known games like World Cricket Championship 3 (WCC3), eFootball, and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the Indian government is preparing to make a major splash in the esports industry. The “Create in India Challenge,” which was launched to encourage innovation and digital entrepreneurship, includes this competition.

Indian Government’s Esports Tournament: Schedule and Events

Since this is the first time the government has organized a sizable LAN (Local Area Network) event, it is significant for Indian gaming. From November 20 to November 24, 2024, three main games will be played in the event in Goa:

1. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI): A well-liked mobile game featuring both squad and solo modes.

2. eFootball: one-on-one games in which two participants face off.

3. World Cricket Championship 3 (WCC3): A cricket match that consists of one-on-one matches.

To ensure that the greatest number of people can attend the event, it is significant to note that registration for various games will open on separate dates: August 23, September 1, September 18, and October 4.

Format and Schedule

Four separate rounds of online qualifiers will precede the competition to increase the number of players from around India. Here’s a little glance at the itinerary:

  • Batch 1: September 1st – September 15th
  • Batch 2: September 18th – October 2nd
  • Batch 3: October 4th – October 19th
  • Batch 4: October 21st – November 4th

The best individuals and groups from these qualifications will have the opportunity to participate in the Goa Grand Finals.

Finals will be held in Goa

The tournament’s high point, the Grand Finals, will unite the top players from all around the nation. This is how it will be configured:

  • 64 participants from each sport will participate in the finals of eFootball and WCC3. Of these, four players will be invited from outside the country, and 60 players will be from the online qualifiers (15 from each batch).
  • 16 teams will compete in the BGMI. Twelve teams three from each batch will advance from the online rounds, and four international teams will get invitations.

Fans may follow the action from anywhere in the world thanks to live streaming of every match on websites like YouTube.

The Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finals will order the order of the competition. There are intriguing rewards in this competition, so victory is not the only goal. Although the specifics of the award have not yet been disclosed, winners will get monetary prizes and other goods.
