There is a major reason why Apex Legends players are upset about the new Legend Spotlight Passes.

2 min read

Apex Legends recently introduced Legend Spotlight Passes, which have met with universal criticism and near-unanimous dissatisfaction concerning pricing from the community of players.

A lineup of Legends has been featured in Apex since its debut in the six years prior and is, as of now, quite broad since its release, adding up the 26 characters. Weaving through such a list of characters only to unlock them requires gruelling effort, especially for new players.

Respawn invented Legend Spotlight Pass in the Season 24 update aimed at simplifying the process while providing tier-one cosmetics in the process.

While the leaks blew up as suggesting it might be free, upon their discontinuance, they are now confirmed at 1,000 Apex Coints. Considering the issue of obtaining new Legends and mini-Battle Passes that include a Legendary skin, the players, however, do not seem to be completely satisfied with the price and what it means to the Battle Royale as a whole.

Legend Spotlight Passes cause immediate criticism

Season 24 was shrouded in mystery, not least because official blogs were vague on what kind of currency was required for the new ‘middle’ Pass, which is a wedge between the Welcome Pass and the seasonal Battle Pass.

For 1,000 Apex Coins (around $10), one would be able to gain access to a new rewards track with 20 tiers filled with challenges to overcome. At the very end awaits a randomized Legendary skin for the character of your choice.

The community is not even angry, but rather furious, to see the microtransaction model where, technically speaking, this is cheaper than outright purchasing most Legendary skins at present and also alleges that unlocking the Legend does not exist for them if not already acquired.

Will the challenge cost you money? Come on dude, that’s just absurd! “, and the blame-bearer gets into a social media argument.“Progression shouldn’t be stacked behind a paywall,” going to say about the Legend unlock aspect.

Some said, “This is insanity red flagging.” Therefore, Respawn will “never learn,” enshrined as competition gets fierce and a plummeting player base finds itself before EA gives birth to the full-blown “Apex 2.0” reboot somewhere midway through.

“As one player remarked, this would have been a great time for them to build up goodwill,” referring to the fact that these should be purchasable by trading in Legend Tokens.

Besides the launch of newer titles like “Marvel Rivals,” players continue to shift to these other live-service games, feeding claims that talk to players. We just have to wait and see if Respawn too will take the leaflet’s advice and make adjustments to their newly released Legend Spotlight Passes.
