Early Life
Jitesh Sharma was born on 22 October 1993 in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. He belongs to a middle-class family that has been supportive of his cricketing interests.
Jitesh had a strong interest in cricket from a young age and started playing in local cricket tournaments in Amravati during his school days. He was trained at local cricket academies in Maharashtra, where he was trained in wicket-keeping and hard-hitting batting skills.
Jitesh’s consistent performances in local and district-level tournaments earned him recognition and led to his selection for the domestic team.

Domestic Career
Jitesh Sharma made his List A debut on 27 February 2014 for Vidarbha in the 2013-14 Vijay Hazare Trophy. On 1 October 2015, he made his First-Class debut by playing in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy. He gained more recognition through his aggressive batting and sharp wicket-keeping skills in these domestic matches.
In the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Jitesh was one of the leading run-scorers with 298 runs in 7 matches, showcasing his consistency and hard-hitting batting skills.
Since Jitesh has maintained a good average and strike rate, he will always be at the top of the list for selectors.
International Career
Jitesh Sharma began his international cricket career by playing T20Is for Team India. In the Indian T20I squad, his role was primarily as a wicket-keeper and middle-order batsman.
Jitesh made his T20I debut for India on 3 October 2023 against Nepal in the 2022 Asian Games.
Later, he played in the 2023 Australia T20I series and scored 35 runs off 19 balls in the fourth T20I, marking his highest score in international T20s at the time.
As a wicket-keeper, Jitesh has also contributed by taking 3 catches and effecting 1 stumping in his T20I career so far.
IPL Carrer
In IPL 2016, Jitesh Sharma joined the Mumbai Indians squad but did not chance to play in any matches that season.
His breakthrough season came in 2022, when he became a key player for the Punjab Kings as a wicket-keeper batsman. He was one of the top performers for PBKS from 2022 to 2024, recording the highest strike rate in the death overs.
In 2025, Jitesh was released by PBKS, and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought him at the auction for ₹11 crore. This season, he continues to perform well with both the bat and behind the stumps.
