Legacy Stuns Vitality in BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3

Counter-Strike’s premium tournament, BLAST.tv: Austin Majors Stage 3 matches are underway. In that tournament, audience favourites Team Vitality faced Legacy Esports in the first round of Stage 3.

Legacy shocked the audience with an outstanding performance against Team Vitality in the opening round of Stage 3 at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

Team Vitality was on a 30-match winning streak and established itself as one of the most dominant teams in the tournament.

Inferno’s 13-3 scoreline shattered Team Vitality’s momentum and ended their remarkable 30-game unbeaten run dating back to February 2025.

Team Legacy: From Unanticipated Journey to History

Initially, Legacy Esports was not part of the Austin Major tournament. Due to Team BESTIA’s visa issues, Legacy came as a last-minute substitute for them.

With very little preparation, Legacy managed to progress through the first two stages. In Stage 3, they were massive underdogs against the currently highest-ranked team in the world.

However, Legacy delivered its best in the tournament to survive. Legacy decided to pick Inferno, which is one of Vitality’s best maps, and they made a drastic move by winning the first pistol round. All of Legacy’s strategies were flawlessly executed to counter Vitality’s setups.

By halftime, they were up 9-3 and carried the momentum into the second half by winning the second pistol round as well. After that, the French team’s economic collapse allowed Legacy to go easy and close out the victory by a 13-3 scoreline.

Vitality’s Streak Ends in Shocking Fashion

Most of the audience had more hopes for Team Vitality because of their previous performances. Vitality was in top form by winning 30 matches in a row and also earned the biggest CS2 tournament title.

In the recent IEM Katowice, BLAST Open Spring, and IEM Dallas tournaments, Team Vitality was on a tremendous winning streak.

These performances made them one of the favourites for the audience at the Austin Major.

Despite top-tier teams being susceptible due to the Swiss-format structure and BO1 matches. Legacy managed to seal the deal. Vitality’s defeat drops them into the 0-1 bracket, increasing the pressure on their next match, while Legacy moves forward with a 1-0 record.
