Perkz Reveals Retirement from League of Legends Esports After Legendary Ten-Year Journey

Luka “Perkz” Perković is known as one of the most popular League of Legends players in the world. He made tremendous contributions to the League of Legends gaming community. However, that contribution came to an end alongside his professional esports career.
Perkz is a 26-year-old currently residing in Croatia and has decided to take a break from active participation in League of Legends games to focus on his next life chapter.

Perkz’s 10-Year Journey
Perkz started his journey in 2015 with G2 Esports. In his period, G2 won the eight LEC titles and led the team to a victory at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational.
Also, G2 became the first European team to win an MSI. His flexibility both as a performer and a player was showcased in 2019 when he moved to the bot lane.
After achieving success with G2, Perkz moved to North America to join Cloud 9 in 2021. He won the LCS Spring Split and reached the Worlds quarterfinals. Perkz then returned to Europe with Team Vitality, followed by Team Heretics, though these later years weren’t as successful. His last competitive appearance was with The Ruddy Sack, a British team in the NLC, where they placed top 6 in early 2025.
Retirement and Next Step
Perkz made a deep statement about retirement during a social media live stream, saying that the weight of professional play combined with the expected duties of fatherhood is very exhausting for him. He added, “I’ll retire at 26 years old. Sounds crazy, but it’s esports” in the same breath. While stepping away from the stage for the time being, he hinted at exploring ways to remain active in the scene, such as mentoring or coaching some of the younger league talents.
At this moment, he is taking a break to focus on his personal life, but fans are hopeful he doesn’t slow down completely. Perkz’s journey is far from one-dimensional, as it depicts a powerhouse story of wins and titles coupled with the growth of esports leadership and enduring passion, which will undoubtedly breathe life into the upcoming esports generations.
