Early Life and Background

Sai Sudharsan is an Indian International cricketer born on 15th October 2001 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He represented India in the ODI and T20I formats. His father, R. Bharadwaj, represented India in Athletics at the South Indian games in Dhaka, and his mother, Usha Bharadwaj, is a former state-level Volleyball player. 

Hence, he comes from a sports-oriented family, which laid the foundation for his sports career.

Domestic Carrer

Sai Sudarshan made his T20 Debut on  4 November 2021 for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Later on 8 December 2021, he made his List A Debut for Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his First-Class Debut on 13 December 2022 against Hyderabad and scored 179 runs on his debut match.

In 2021, Sai Sudarshan played for the team Lyca Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), and he was the Second-highest run-scorer in that season. This performance led to his selection in the 2022 IPL Auction.

IPL Career

In the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Sai Sudarshan was bought by the Gujarat Titans for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. Due to the Injury of Vijay Shankar in the 2022 IPL, Sai entered the GT team playing XI as the replacement of Vijay Shankar and played 5 matches and scored 145 runs in that season.

In the IPL 2023 season, Sai scored 362 runs at an average of 51.71 with a strike rate of 141.41 and scored an impressive knock of 96 runs in the finals against CSK. In the 2024 season, he scored 527 runs in 12 matches at an average of 47.19 with a strike rate of 141.29.

 Sai Sudarshan played a key role in the Gujarat Titans’ road to the final in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Hence, in IPL 2025 he was retained by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 8.5 crores, looking at his previous performance in the game.

International Career

Sai Sudarshan made his ODI Debut on 21 December 2023 against South Africa in Boland Park, Paarl. Later on 7 July 2024, he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe, but he did not get a chance to bat in that match.
