VALORANT Masters Toronto Playoffs: Matchups and Expectations

The VALORANT Masters Toronto has reached the playoffs stage. The VALORANT teams from across the world have competed in this tournament, and only some of the best teams have qualified for the playoffs. Qualified teams will be fighting to win the title, earn respect, and prove they are the best in the world.

After the thrilling Swiss Stage matches, the teams that have qualified for the playoffs are ready to face intense matches. These matchups include well-known rivalries between strong teams, surprise teams that performed better than expected, and exciting, high-pressure games.

In these playoff matches, regional champions are allowed to choose their opponents. This also adds a strategic element and builds hype, making the upcoming matches expected to be thrilling and full of action.

First Round Playoff Matchups Announced

The first round of the playoffs includes four high-profile matchups where the regional Stage 1 champion will select their opponents from the Swiss-qualified teams. The regional Stage 1 champions are Xi Lai Gaming (XLG), RRQ, G2 Esports, and Fnatic. The teams qualified from the Swiss stage are Sentinels, Wolves Esports, Gen.G, and Paper Rex.

The Chinese team Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) selected Sentinels, which sets up a blockbuster match scheduled for June 13. Even though this is XLG’s first international event, their coach said the matchup was selected to entertain the fans.

RRQ selected Wolves Esports to avoid other Pacific squads. Wolves Esports is a new esports team that comes into the playoffs with strong form and standout performances.

G2 Esports chose to face Paper Rex, possibly to avoid Gen.G, who looked much stronger during the Swiss stage.

Fnatic was left to face Gen.G by default, completing the bracket. This is the same matchup that happened during the opening round of the Masters Shanghai 2024 tournament. However, Fnatic player Milan confidently said their team has improved a lot and is ready for revenge.

Therefore, all the above matches will be played from June 13 to 14, and fans can watch on VCT’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
