Data mined from earlier patches suggests additional functionality such as unstructured viewing, as well as bypassing to specific segments of the match. The Replay System is designed for casual and professional-level players who are seeking to enhance their skills.
Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade
Another major technical advancement in VALORANT is that it is shifting from Unreal Engine 4 to 5 in its Patch 11.02 update in July 2025. This switch will increase performance, with better FPS and reduced download times of patches. Riot has promised players that the core visuals, feel, and mechanics of the game will be preserved with the shift in engine.
Players who log in during Patch 11.02 will also receive a special commemorative gun buddy. Apart from performance improvements, Unreal Engine 5 Update extends the horizon of bolstered synergy, lighting, physics, and animation. This can be integrated into VALORANT down the road, enabling long-term improvement in gameplay and design.
Therefore, Riot Games has shown that they are committed to evolving VALORANT with the competitive core of the game intact. 2025 is looking like it could be one of the most transformative years in VALORANT’s history.
