2 min readCricket player K Hoysala of Karnataka went suddenly on February 22 (Thursday) due to a heart attack. He fell on the pitch at the Aegis South Zone competition in Bengaluru, which was a regrettable event. Hoysala was taken right away to a Bengaluru hospital after collapsing. At the time, the 34-year-old cricket player was taking part in a match at Bengaluru’s RSI venue versus Tamil Nadu.
Hoysala passed out on the pitch during the post-match huddle. The medical personnel on hand at the location took quick care of him, performing CPR in an effort to bring him back to consciousness. Sadly, the cricket player did not improve with the therapy, and an ambulance quickly took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. While he was being transported to the hospital, the event was reported to the family.
“I was saddened to learn of the unexpected death of fast bowler K. Hoysala, one of Karnataka’s rising stars, during the Aegis South Zone Tournament,” said on social media Dinesh Gundu Rao, the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka. My sincere sympathies are with his family and friends at this difficult time of loss. Recent cases of young people dying from cardiac arrest highlight the significance of health awareness and the necessity for us to exercise caution when it comes to heart health.”
Fast bowler K Hoysala made a name for himself in the state cricket circuit while playing for Shivamogga Lion and Bellary Tuskers in the Karnataka Premier League. The cricketing fraternity is missing him dearly since his sudden death.

We are reminded of another upsetting situation that happened earlier in January by this incidence. Vikas Negi, an engineer and native of Uttarakhand who lives in Delhi’s Rohini, tragically passed away during a match close to the Noida Expressway Police Station in Noida, shocking the cricketing community. When the upsetting occurrence happened, Negi, who is in his mid-30s, was watching a game in Sector 135 between Mavericks XI and Blazing Bulls.
