Hardik Pandya Opens Up At The Shift Of Captaincy
2 min readThe Captaincy war between Rohit and Hardik begins before the start of IPL 2024 and it makes social media boo the new captain of the franchise. Hardik Pandya has been traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujrat Titans in the trade Window. Rohit led the team from 2013 to 2023 and won the IPL titles five times.
The team seems unbeatable with the inclusion of Hardik Pandya with the big names like Rohit Sharma, JaspritBumrah and many more . But the franchise broke hearts when they announced Hardik Pandya as their captain. After that fans started booing and a rage came out from Rohit fans across the country. A lot of unhappy posts are being posted by their teammates on social media on the decision taken by Mumbai Indians.

At the pre tournament presser, Hardik addressed this backlash and said that he will have the backing of Rohit Sharma throughout the season. “ It won’t be any different because he will be there to help me out,” Hardik stated. I am happy that he(Rohit) is on our side and what the team has achieved is under his captaincy. I am just taking his legacy forward. He continued that he played 10 years under him so I will be having his hand over my shoulders throughout the season.
The Yes No Mystery
The all-rounder perpetuated the tension as one of the first questions the media asked on Monday was if Hardik had spoken with Rohit since taking over as captain.
“Yes and no to that, since he has been traveling and performing,” he responded. For the past few months, we haven’t seen one another. Since we are all professionals, we will undoubtedly talk when the squad gets together and he arrives.”
