The league stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 (PMGC 2022) concluded on 4th December. All the 16 teams to compete in the PMGC 2022 Grand Finals have been locked. Although the league stage lasted almost a month, fans did not get to watch the PMGC 2022 in Hindi or see it cast by any Indian caster. In a recent livestream, popular Indian BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) and PUBG Mobile caster Amrit “Fyxs” Gourav revealed why Indian casters don’t cast PMGC 2022.

Indian casters did not cast PMGC 2022 because they did not want to risk anything regarding the game

In a recent livestream, Fyxs was playing FIFA 23 and answering questions from his viewers. During this session, one of his viewers asked why Indian casters did not cast the PMGC 2022 League Stage. Responding to this, Fyxs said, “I don’t know. Maybe because they do not want to risk anything.”

The government of India blocked BGMI under section 69A of the IT Act 2000 in July 2022. At first, Krafton did not make any statement or give any hints regarding the game’s potential return. However, in the last two months, Krafton has been proactive and working on different aspects of the game. In an international audit, the South Korean Ambassador to India said that Krafton is trying to resolve BGMI’s suspension in India. Furthermore, in the latest press release, Krafton stated that it was working to resume BGMI services in India. On the other hand, a lot of influential figures also claimed that the game would return in early 2023.

Talking about this, Fyxs added, “The publishers are trying very hard to bring back the game to the country, and they don’t want to mess it up, or something like that. We were approached initially for casting, but then, we got a message saying that they were planning not to do Hindi broadcasts anymore. We are okay with it. We thought it was fine. No problem if we don’t cast one tournament, just the game should return.”
