Wimbledon 2024 Day 2: Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek Begin Their Campaign

Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic are two of the well-known athletes that will compete on Wimbledon Day in 2024. Djokovic is playing again following a knee injury he suffered at the French Open. The Serb, who placed second last year, will try to right the wrong. Czech Vit Kopriva will take against the former World No. 1 in the opening round of SW19.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland will compete against American Sofia Kenin in the women’s singles. Swiatek hasn’t done much on grass yet, despite winning the French Open last month. The 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina will start her campaign against Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse.

Jessica Pegula, who skipped the French Open, will face Ashlyn Krueger of the United States. Pegula defeated Anna Kalinskaya to win the title in Berlin, and she will have a lot of confidence. The 2022 runners-up, Ons Jabeur, will take against Japanese player Moyuka Uchijima in the initial round.

When Marketa Vondrousova, the reigning champion, takes on Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain, she hopes to continue where she left off the previous year. There will include be performances by Alexander Zverev and Andy Murray.
