The India Under-19 national cricket team is currently unbeaten in the campaign and two games away from winning the title again. India, the defending winners of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, are also aiming for a record-tying sixth victory in the tournament, which would put them three points ahead of Australia in second position.
As of this writing, India has won all one of its five matches in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. They defeated Bangladesh, Ireland, and the United States of America three times in the group stage before defeating New Zealand and Nepal in the Super Six to increase their total. They are the only teams to have won every game they have played thus far, along with Pakistan.
Thus, on their own pitch, South Africa will begin as the second favourite, a situation that does not lessen the threat they pose. Their lone tournament defeat was in the group stage against England, who had benefited immensely from the application of the DLS technique.
Ten years from now, South Africa hopes to add to their one victory in the competition.
