Ame to step away from the competitive scene to recuperate
“On the premise of following the player’s wishes and respecting his personal development needs, the club announces after full internal communication and friendly consultation and with immediate effect, LGD eSports Club DOTA2 Division PSG.LGD team player Wang Chunyu (ID : Xiaoser) to inactive status, temporarily away to rest.” announced the organization on its update on Ame on its Weibo page.
Ame’s journey with PSG.LGD has been a rough one, despite managing to win multiple LAN tournaments during his 6 years of being with the organization from 2016. While Ame is currently a two time Major champion after winning the MDL Changsha Major in 2018 and the WePlay AniMajor in 2021, the uncrowned king was unable to win the biggest Dota 2 tournament of them all which is The International (TI) despite coming close numerous times.
Ame came close to winning the Aegis of Champions at The International 2018 (TI8), however OG’s “Cinderella Run” at TI8 denied him that opportunity as he lost his first Grand Finals of TI. Ame would have a second opportunity at the championship three years later at The International 2021 (TI10), however fate would once again deny him the chance of winning the championship as Team Spirit went on to win the Grand Finals of TI10.

Ame decided to stick with PSG.LGD for one more year, as he believed that the team is capable of reaching the TI Grand Finals again. While the team did dominate the regional Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) league, the team’s performance at The International 2022 (TI11) left much to be desired as it only achieved a top six finish at the event.PSG.LGD have already begun to make changes within the roster as it recently parted ways with Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida & Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, with the former retiring from the competitive scene. Additionally, team captain Zhang “y`” Yiping has announced that he is currently a free agent and has already departed the team.
